Terms and conditions applicable to online Auctions hosted by The Antique Wine Company (“the Company”)

 

  1. The Company’s standard terms and conditions set out at www.antique-wine.com apply and are supplemented by the following additional terms and conditions relating to the bidding process for online auctions.
  2. Bidding is open to clients that have been pre-approved by the Company. To enter a bid clients should register to request approval of a username and password from the Company.  Approval will normally be completed by the Company within 24 hours of the request being received.
  3. All bids entered are subject to confirmation by the Company, who will issue such confirmation via e mail or other electronic notification.
  4. The Company has the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse any bid and to advance the bidding in such a manner as it sees fit.
  5. The Company has the right to set a confidential minimum reserve price below which the goods can be withdrawn from sale.
  6. Bidding will be in increments as specified in the details for the individual lot.
  7. Bids may be either entered by clients directly on the bidding pages of the The Antique Wine Company Auction site or may be communicated by other means to the Company in which case the bid shall be submitted by the Company by proxy on the client’s behalf. The Company shall not be liable for any failure to enter or any error in entering such proxy bids.
  8. Subject to compliance with these terms and conditions, the highest bidaccepted by the Company will be confirmed via the issue of the Company’s invoice to the buyer which shall form the contract for sale between the Company and the buyer.
  9. Further to the acceptance of the final bid all registered bidders will be informed by the Company of the conclusion of the auction.
  10. Please contact the Company immediately if you believe your bid was submitted/accepted accidentally.
  11. The Company reserves the right to modify the terms of any auction, including end date and items offered.
  12. The Company may withdraw an item that is not receiving bids or add items.
  13. The Company reserves the right to modify the auction rules at any time and without notice but will promptly notify all registered bidders of such modifications.
